Excerpts of Hon. Lawyer James Enu's Manifesto Pledge for Tema West Constituency for the 2024 Election
In my role as your MP of Parliament, I am unwavering committed to propelling Tema West towards a defined future through a series of strategic policy statements and initiatives and meticulous progress. My focus spans critical domains to ensure the well-rounded advancement of our beloved constituency.
Addressing the Challenges of the eleven (11) electoral areas:
Tema Main
1. Refurbishment of old dilapidated markets namely BBC and Abrofo markets in Tema Community 2.
2. Enhancing security and lighting across Tema.
3. Undertaking drainage and sewage rehabilitation in communities 2 and 5.
4. Revitalizing the abandoned Mexico Primary and Middle School blocks.

1. Lobby for the provision of premix fuel and outboard motors.
2. Addressing sanitation problems
Lashibi
1. Ensuring adequate water supply.
2. Fixing inner roads and construction drainage systems.
Baastonaa
1. Protection of squatter communities at the Kiosk Estates.
2. Addressing drainage system issues and improving inner roads.
Klagon and Adjeikojo
1. Expansion of Under the Bridge connecting Klagon and Adjei Kojo to elevate productivity and seamless trading experiences
2. Fixing inner roads and drainage systems.
3. Ensuring a reliable water supply.
4. Addressing the sanitation problems
Sakumono
1. Addressing inner roads and drainage system issues.
2. Ensuring an adequate water supply.
General

The above-mentioned will done in consultation and collaboration with the District Chief Executive (DCE), the Assembly and Unit Committee Members. (Thus, the Assembly)
The Bigger Picture
1. Implementation of the second phase of the MPS expansion program to boost youth employment in Tema’s industrial city which will be undertaken by the Central Government.
2. Reviewing the high and numerous tariffs at the port of Tema which has drastically reduced the inflow of vessels to the Tema Port, thus creating a drastic loss of work for all companies connected to and associated with the port to enhance the economic inflows which will be undertaken by the Central Government.
3. Moslem Mosque Message
a). Subsidizing Hajj fares for reduced costs.
In 2016, the Hajj fair during H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s time was GHS13,000 but now is GHS 75,000. This is because the government does not give any subsidy. This subsidy will be brought back by H.E John Mahama to reduce the fairs to Hajj
b). Provision of English and Arabic schools in Klagon, Adjei and Community 5 which will done in collaboration with the Assembly.
c). Facilitating Hajj slots for the Mecca pilgrimage.
4. Elevating Textpo Market: Collaborating closely with the Assembly to spearhead a comprehensive renovation and upgrade of Textpo Market, ensuring seamless trading experiences and prioritizing impeccable hygiene standards.
5. Human Development
a). Prioritizing skills development among artisans.
b). Nurturing talents in sports, filmmaking, and showbiz.
6. Security and Safety
Promoting community policing and establishing police posts.
Installing street lights and supporting regular patrols.
7. Justice and Judiciary
a). Advocating for legal education and providing Pro Bono services.
b). Reducing consultation rates for enhanced access to justice.
8. Employment Sector
a). Actively scouting job opportunities for both skilled and unskilled labour.
2. Capacity building, etc.
9. Health Sector
a). Conducting free health screenings
b). Supporting philanthropic health initiatives.
c). Liaising with the appropriate sector Minister and agencies to expand physical health facilities in certain key Electoral Areas.
10. Education
a). Establishing an educational fund for scholarships.
b). Supporting back-to-school programs.
11. Transport
Support for Commercial Ownership: Facilitating support for hire purchase or work-and-pay activities, enabling constituents to own their commercial vehicles.
12. Trade and Industry
Business Support: Assisting members in opening businesses and engaging in various commercial activities in Tema’s thriving industrial hub.
13. Persons with Disabilities
Prioritizing and supporting the requests and needs of constituents with disabilities.
The 24-Hour Economy Vision: A Catalyst for Employment and Growth
I ardently endorse the 24-hour economy policy proposed by the next NDC and President John Dramani Mahama’s administration. This intervention aims to create sustainable jobs and foster productivity.
As your MP, I will lobby and personally support initiatives in the following sectors:
a). Pharmaceutical Industry
b. ) Manufacturing Industry
c). Sanitation and Waste Management
d). Leisure and Hospitality Industry
e). Digital Start-ups and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)
f). Transportation Services
Moreover, as MP, I will actively lobby for the constituency to secure more employment opportunities extended to key public institutions, such as the Police, Fire Service, Immigration, Ports and Harbours, Customs, Passport Office, and DVLA, etc ensuring increased employment for my constituents.
Together, through these comprehensive measures, we will achieve prosperity and collaboratively build the Tema West Constituency we want.
